Sandra Bullock and Her Daughter Made a Rare Appearance to Surprise a Healthcare Worker
Sandra Bullock made a rare appearance (with a special guest) to surprise a nurse working on the front lines against the coronavirus pandemic.
The actress called in for a special episode of Jada Pinkett Smith's Red Table Talk dedicated to mothers who are working to help others during the virus's outbreak, and Bullock and her daughter Laila surprised April Buencamino, a nurse manager for the COVID-19 unit at California's Adventist Health (White Memorial) Hospital.
"April, thank you for — I’m going to try to say this without crying — but thank you for everything that you’re doing because we get to sit here and be home with our families because you are out there doing the hard, hard, hard work," Bullock said. "There is not a dinner and a grace that goes by without us sending you the love and appreciation and the gratitude that we as a family have because we are safe."
"And you as a mom, I know you’re scared, I know you’re scared on so many levels," Bullock continued. "I bow down to you and your family, I say thank you. We’re just so very grateful for you and everyone that does what you do."
Bullock's daughter also made an appearance in the video call, climbing onto her lap and telling Buencamino, "Thank you, April, for doing everything for everyone."

The actress and her partner Bryan Randall, along with her two children, 8-year-old Laila, and 10-year-old Louis, previously donated masks to healthcare workers at the Adventist Health Hospital.
Bullock adopted Louis in 2010, and adopted Laila in 2015.
"She’s our world superhero," Bullock said of her daughter on Red Table Talk. "She’s the one who’ll save the world in our family, so she’s ready. She’s ready to join you out there, April, in a few years!"
