Ivanka wants 'clean break' from Trump's chaotic presidency

Ivanka Trump is reportedly looking to distance herself from her father Donald Trump's chaotic presidency as she focuses on her own future run for office.

Trump's eldest daughter and her husband Jared Kushner are "looking forward to having a clean break," according to a close associate of the couple, who spoke to Vanity Fair.

"They haven’t yet gone into what comes next and their government work is done. It is a moment in their lives to focus exclusively on family and just relax," the source said.

As Trump's presidency came to an end, it was reported that Ivanka was fearing for her own political career after the former President revealed he would break tradition and skip Joe Biden's inauguration.

"That has Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump in a bit of a panic as they look to their future," CNN White House correspondent Kate Bennet said.

"I talked to a lot of sources today who say they’re questioning everything now, from where they’re going to live after the White House to what their careers will be."

A source told the Daily Mail that Ivanka wanted to be a "good sport" and was doing "whatever she can do to save her reputation".

One of Ivanka's former friends Lysandra Ohrstrom wrote an explosive piece for Vanity Fair about how the eldest Trump daughter transformed from a businesswoman with a carefully cultivated personal brand to "MAGA royalty".

"Ivanka joined her dad’s administration, I was sure she would step in to moderate her father’s most regressive, racist tendencies," Lysandra wrote.

"The Ivanka I knew spent her career developing and embodying a more polished and intellectual offshoot of the Trump brand, which blended the language and look of white millennial feminism with the mythical narrative of business acumen and entrepreneurial spirit she claimed to have inherited from her dad … Instead, I’ve watched as Ivanka has laid waste to the image she worked so hard to build."
