Emma Stone lipsyncing and dancing to Grease for charity is giving us life
If you wanted to get a sense of what a middle school sleepover party with Emma Stone would have been like, you just have to watch her singing and dancing to Grease in a new video. The La La Land actress pulled out her musical skills in an Instagram takeover with renowned choreographer Ryan Heffington. All proceeds from the event benefitted the Child Mind Institute.
Stone is a board member for the nonprofit, which works to improve the lives of children with mental health and learning disorders through care, research, and education. She was Heffington’s guest star in the Instagram takeover, and she was bringing it.
Stone busted moves and “sang” into a microphone as “You’re the One That I Want” from Grease played in the background.
Basically, she brought the energy her character Olive brought in Easy A‘s famous “Pocketful of Sunshine” scene. We’re here for it. Consider dancing with Emma Stone to be our new quarantine workout routine.
“Big thank you to @childmindinstitute board member Emma Stone, and @ryan.heffington for taking over our Instagram Live this afternoon with #SWEATFEST,” the nonprofit posted on Instagram on April 26th. “They’re helping raise funds to enable us to support groups, provide telehealth, and create online resources for children and their families, who need extra support during COVID-19.”

One look at Stone’s lipsync skills and you know this isn’t her first rodeo.
In fact, the actress did a lipsync battle on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon back in 2014. Though she didn’t bring out any Broadway hits, she brought down the house with a rendition of DJ Khalid’s “All I Do Is Win.”
If you’d like to sub in for the Academy Award-winner, you can take Stone’s place as Heffington’s virtual dance partner. The choreographer is spending his quarantine hosting frequent dance parties from his Instagram.
