Chris Evans debuted his Instagram on May 1 when he accepted Chris Pratt's "#AllInChallenge" to help raise money for COVID-19 relief. While his first post was a video in which he offered a virtual hang-out with him and his Avengers co-stars, the rest of his posts have mostly been centered around his dog, Dodger. In an interview with Jimmy Fallon, Evans told the late-night host that Dodger is actually pretty much the reason his Instagram account exists.

"I guess I caved," he said. "I feel like such an old man; I feel so late to the party. You know what it is? I had too many good pictures of my dog. I was like, 'They're being wasted in my phone. I need to put these somewhere."

Evans also discussed that he gave his dog a haircut in quarantine. Dodger ended up with maybe a little bit too much shaved off the top (or sides, in his case). Fallon called the cut "unfortunate." Oof.

"I had done it once before, right when quarantine began. I gave him just a little bit of a trim...and it went great! And so I got a little confident and put on a shorter attachment, and it just exploded in my face, and I kept trying to fix it. Eventually, I was like, 'Alright, I just gotta cut my losses.'"

Fallon said he was considering giving his own dog a quarantine trim, and he asked Evans for pointers. "Here's the deal...The first time I did it it was after a walk, so he was exhausted. He was straight and flat. You gotta go with the hair, don't go against it. The next time I did it it was first thing in the morning, and he had a lot of energy, and as you're bringing the clippers down he kept twisting his body and the skin would crunch up...He had no idea what was goin' on. You're trying to speak to him, and he doesn't speak English."
